To Be a Good Writer

To Be a Good Writer: Why Not?

It may happen to the people around us that they are very poor at writing but good at speaking. When they are supposed to write a good composition, they are facing so many difficulties. However, when it is time for them to present what they have done, everything goes so fluently. The capability on writing may differ among people. One may be good at writing but poor in other skills, on the other way around, one may be bad at writing but good at other skills.
Writing is considered as the most difficult language skill to learn for a language learner (Cahyono, Bambang Yudi, 1997: 63). It is not a matter of something odd that not all people are good at writing. Despite the fact that writing is the most difficult skill compared to others, it   does not mean that it cannot be learned. Since writing is a skill, it means that everyone may have good capability in it if they are willing to learn and practice how to.
Facing such reality, in this paper, the writer wants to discuss what we can do to be a good writer. How can we improve our writing skill? Though there might have been many strategies to do so, here we may have some other ones.

What activities can we do to improve our writing skill?
Some techniques may be taken into account to help us improve our writing skill. Here are what to do:
1.      Do writing
Writing is a skill. A skill needs practice. Just try to write and gradually we will have much experience how to write better. Let’s make use of our computer. Sit in front of it and do typing. The longer we sit and type, the more writing we have. The more writing we have, the more mistake we do. The more mistakes we do, the more alert on good writing we are.
Be sure that we will be a good writer because we have had many mistakes that make us know better how to make a good composition.
2.      Enrich our vocabularies
The more diligent we write, the more vocabularies we need to express our ideas.
